The figure above is the visitors/residents map I’ve created after reading the article “Visitors and Residents: A new typology for online engagement”. I listed most of the social media and platforms of my daily use and list them on the map according to the frequency of usage.
As for the privacy I learned from both the article and the quick test we did, I found out that while I use all the social media, I did not value my privacy enough, even though I pay a lot of attention try to protect my privacy, such as read most of the agreement before agreeing on them and etc. But as terms agreeing on cookies on each website when they first came up, I just simply on every single one for convenience. Also, I posted my pictures on social media with precise locations on them, this is also a bad move in protecting my own privacy.
After the materials we did this week, I wonder how does social media balance digital privacy vs cybersecurity?
